It’s My One Year WordPress Anniversary!

Just got the notification that I have officially been blogging for one year today! I also hit 2 other milestones this week- 200 total posts & 5,000 views!!! I’m up to 98 followers, hoping for 100 by the end of the year!

Thank you so much to all of my followers and even casual readers. This is my first attempt at blogging and reading others’ blogs. I’ve learned so much and really enjoy the positivity experienced in the blogging community. This year was a pretty tough one for me personally and blogging gave me something to keep busy with and look forward to doing.

Zeke has changed so much over the past year; physically, he has filled out into a beefy yet lean muscle machine. We’ve dealt with his anxiety issues and made some progress with that. We’ve committed to feeding a majority raw diet and he has been happy and healthy. And, as he reached 3 years old in June, his crazy, young dog energy, has finally ebbed just a tiny bit. We have gone from casual jogging partners to urban canicrossers and he has helped me train for my first half-marathon which I will be doing next Sunday! We have travelled, explored, met many new people and dogs. We have had both good and bad experiences, that is for sure!

Not sure what and where the next year of blogging will bring us. I plan on continuing running with Zeke, although taking it a little easy after my race. I’d like to try out a few new dog parks and head out to the beach more often. I have asked a few friends of mine with dogs & interesting stories to share to write a post or two as guest bloggers on Zeke’s Adventures. Doug and I would like to plan another camping trip to Maine and continue exploring new dog-friendly places to hike. Maybe we can also finally try to fix up the old adult tricycle we found & try biking with Zeke and/or convert a child wagon into a pulling cart for him.

Thank you again for following Zeke on his adventures and for sharing your own. We look forward to another year of reading and writing via WordPress. A special thanks to my Dad for suggesting WordPress and his encouragement to keep at it.

Happy blogging!!!

  1. Wow… a year already! You have done a super job with this blog and I’m so proud of what you have done!

  2. I really enjoy your blog and have to say again, Zeke is such a cool dog! I love that you canicross in a totally urban environment. You’ve inspired me to canicross with Kobi (when we go to the mountains so she can help me more than anything). Keep writing!

  3. Loved reading your adventures over the past year! I can’t wait to read about the half, I hope you enjoy it.

    • Thanks! I’m a bit nervous, didn’t get my last long run in as we’ve had some stuff going on this week. I’ll just consider it an extra long taper =/

  4. Congratulations! Love reading about Zeke’s adventures and look forward to more! Good luck on your upcoming race!

  5. Happy anniversary!! πŸ™‚ I’m wondering how you feed raw. I mean, do you just take it out of the freezer and serve? Raw idiot here πŸ˜›

    • I freeze all of the meat I buy for at least 3 days. Then, Zeke gets fed his raw meal at night, so as he’s eating I pull the next day’s meal from the freezer to the fridge to thaw there overnight. If it is a chicken or something that will take him a few days to consume, I wait until he stops eating it on his own & put the remainder in the fridge.

  6. Congratulations! I love reading about the adventures you and Zeke get up to! In a few months I will be running with my new puppy, so I’ll look to you and Zeke for some inspiration πŸ™‚
