Zeke is Officially a Water Dog

Finally I can catch up on some posting! We are back from another camping trip to Vermont & all of the latest photos are on Doug’s phone. It’s hard getting him to give up his phone long enough to upload the pictures!

Camping was amazing, as usual. We stayed at Winhall Brook Campground in Londonderry, Vermont for the 3rd time! I am still amazed by the beauty of this area and the friendliness of the people. We stayed at our same, favorite campsite where we have a wonderful view of the Winhall River and West River meeting. This was the first time I can truly say that Zeke swam, and liked it. We were even able to let him off leash, at times, around the campsite and in the river for some river fetch! It took some encouraging, but he eventually started doing the doggy paddle to retrieve sticks and his ball as long as Doug or I was out in the deep water with him. We had so much fun swimming and just splashing around in the shallow parts that we didn’t even do any hiking! A few walks around the campground and one 3 mile trail run was all. It really was a nice change to just stay in one spot and have so much fun and still be tired at the end of the day. I’d say 10 minutes of swimming tired Zeke out more than that 3 mile trail run! He slept like a baby every night. We had gorgeous weather aside from one night of thunderstorms, which was still a fun experience. It was our first ever and last (for this year) mid-summer camping trip. We won’t be able to go again until fall. Here are a few pics…

  1. Beautiful photos and I love that Zeke is a water dog now! I remember when Kobi had her first swim and the look on her face. She is a total water dog now.

  2. You are my daughter: love those Thunder Storms! How did Zeke handle them?
