West Hills County Park Dog Park

West Hills County Park Dog Park

It’s HUGE! That little white dot is Zeke and the picture doesn’t even show the entire dog park. It is easily the biggest dog park in the vicinity of NYC. It has 2 different entry points, is completely fenced in, has running water, benches for people, and the ground is littered with tennis balls-it is a doggy dream field. We have bought Zeke here 3 or 4 times now and have never seen a dog fight probably because of the sheer size of it. Even with 20 dogs at once you can have an entire corner to yourself. What makes this park even better? An approximate 2 hour walking trail (the Walt Whitman trail) and a view from Long Island’s tallest peak, Jayne’s Hill. It is a 40 minute drive from Queens, but well worth it for several hours of fun! There is a spacious parking lot (at least on weekdays of the off-season). There are tons of places to grab lunch nearby for you & your dog! Check out Armellino’s raw dog food. They carry chicken, beef, duck, and random organ grinds and marrow bones. Only a 5 minute drive from the park!
